Growing the Future - 5K Students Plant Trees in Honor of Arbor Day

Our 5K students from Westside Elementary School had the opportunity to help the Village of Kimberly plant 50 red maple and white pine seedlings at the beach in Sunset Park. This year, the Village is celebrating their 29th year of being designated a Tree City USA.

In addition to learning about the importance and benefits of having trees in our community, students participated in a nature themed scavenger hunt. It was a great hands-on learning experience for students, educators and the parent helpers. These students are a great example of living our Community Value of Respect by showing respect for the environment.

Years from now, just imagine how big the trees they planted will be when they visit the park!
