Nine Students Attend Badger State

Badger Girls State delegates were: Adrianna Mohr, Chanler Niemi, Vanessa Rooyakkers, Morgan Smarzinski and Kayla Vermeern. Badger Boys State delegates were: Justin Coon, Alex Jansen, Daniel Ponto and Samuel Radtke.

Nine Kimberly High School students participated in Badger State programs this summer.

At Badger State, they learn the practical application of citizenship, learn about how their state government functions and develop leadership skills. The program is a week-long event for selected students who are enrolled in their junior year of high school.

Badger Girls State delegates were: Adrianna Mohr, Chanler Niemi, Vanessa Rooyakkers, Morgan Smarzinski and Kaylee Vermeern.

Badger Boys State delegates were: Justin Coon, Alex Jansen, Daniel Ponto and Samuel Radtke.

At Badger State, the student delegates create a fictional fifty-first state. As citizens of this “new” state, they learn by doing as they function on city, county and state levels by electing officials and conducting business on those levels.

Every attendee is encouraged to participate in some level of the governmental process. Badger Girls State is organized by the American Legion Auxiliary and Badger Boys State is organized by the American Legion. Great job pursuing excellence in co-curricular activities!
