It was recently announced that the Westside Elementary School students who participated in the Kids' Fun Run that was held at the Timber Rattlers’ Stadium in September took 1st place. The Kids’ Fun Run was the kick off for the Fox Cities Marathon weekend. Westside students took 1st place for the Large Group Schools Category.
As part of their recognition, their school will receive a plaque and a $1,000 gift certificate to School Specialty in order to purchase more physical education equipment.
According to Amy Phillips, a physical education teacher at the school, this is their 8th time participating AND they have placed either 1st or 2nd all 8 years.
