KHS Recognized on Youth Apprenticeship Day

KHS was recognized during Youth Apprenticeship Day by the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development.

In recognition of Youth Apprenticeship Day in Wisconsin on Sept. 26, Kimberly High School had a special visit from Georgia Maxwell, the Deputy Secretary of the Department of Workforce Development. She spoke about the important role Youth Apprenticeships play in helping students learn about high demand careers.

Principal Mike Rietveld and Teacher Steve Masanz shared information about the Youth Apprenticeship (YA) options available to KHS students. Several students and a recent graduate spoke about their experiences as a Youth Apprentice and how it helped them better prepare for their life and career.

Also, several local business representatives who have Kimberly students placed with them through Youth Apprenticeship spoke about how their participation in the program benefits their business, as well as the students.
