Substitute Teacher

Requirements: Associates Degree or Bachelor's Degree and Substitute Teaching License
Pay: $115/Per day
This position would lead in-person classes when the teacher is out. If you do not have a current Wisconsin Teaching License you will need to successfully complete a one-day Substitute Teacher Training Class approved by DPI (Department of Public Instruction) and submit for a Substitute Teaching License through DPI. Click here to be directed to WECAN’s website to complete an online application to get started! 

Substitute Teacher Training Classes
There are a number of options to complete the substitute teacher training class, both in-person or self-directed online. The cost of a class ranges from $100 to $150 depending on the type of class you would like to complete. Note: while there are many options you only need to complete one class for your license.

Classroom Facilitator 

Requirements: High School Diploma and completion of District training
Pay: $90/per day

Substitute Paraprofessionals

Requirements: High School Diploma and completion of District training
Pay: $9.50/per hour

The progressive Kimberly Area School District has a rewarding opportunity for a full-time School Nurse to work at J.R. Gerritts Middle School and Kimberly High School.  The selected candidate will possess a license as a registered nurse; however, a bachelor’s degree in nursing is preferred.  DPI licensure is optional.  The right candidate will work 180 days during the school year with approximately 20 additional days required outside the school year for a total of 200 days.  The right candidate will be responsible for carrying out the school district’s health/nursing program at their designated schools.  This position will begin in May 24, 2021.

Buildings & Grounds Supervisor

The Kimberly Area School District has a rewarding opportunity for a Buildings and Grounds Supervisor.  The right candidate will direct the day to day operations of the District custodial services to ensure school buildings, equipment and grounds are operational, safe, clean and maintained. Responsible for supervising the custodial staff including: hiring, evaluating staff work performance, and training. Provide students and staff with a safe, attractive, comfortable, clean, and efficient place in which to learn, play, develop, and work.  Custodial experience or an equivalent level of education and experience in facilities maintenance or building trades and supervisory experience is required.  This position will begin in June 2021.  Annual salary is $60,000.

Responsibilities include:

  • Responsible for supervising all custodial services.
  • Hire, evaluate staff work performance and train custodial personnel and summer help.
  • Train, mentor and develop custodial personnel.
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of contracted custodial company and services.
  • Schedule and coordinate with the Director of Facilities all work orders for the operation and maintenance of school buildings, grounds, and/or equipment.
  • Inspect all facilities and systems on a regular basis, prioritize and recommend all buildings and grounds projects for the District.
  • Monitor the safety and cleanliness of all buildings.
  • Respond to after-hours situations that require the services of this department.
  • Approve all requisitions and payments of invoices for supplies, equipment and work performed by outside contractors.
  • Maintain District compliance with all safety, health and environmental regulations. Promote the safety, health and comfort of students, employees and the general public.
  • Obtain quotes for supplies and equipment where applicable.
  • Keep District compliant with OSHA regulations.
  • Perform general maintenance and custodial activities as necessity dictates.

The right candidate will possess the following skills and characteristics:

  • Custodial experience or an equivalent level of education and experience in facilities maintenance or building trades.
  • Supervisory experience needed.
  • General knowledge in areas of plumbing, electrical, mechanical, heating, air handling systems, roofing systems, carpentry, and grounds care; ability to operate equipment.
  • Knowledge of building codes and safety precautions used in building maintenance and operations.
  • Hazardous material handling experience.
  • Ability to handle emergencies and critical operational problems; ability to problem solve and make appropriate decisions; ability to work well under pressure/stress; ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Groundskeeper - Maintenance

The progressive Kimberly Area School District has a rewarding opportunity for a full-time, Groundskeeper/Maintenance position.  The right candidate will specialize in grounds keeping, snow removal, and vehicle/equipment maintenance.  The selected candidate will have maintenance and groundskeeping experience.  Experience with various lawn and snow removal equipment is preferred.  A Commercial Applicator License, Public Pesticide Applicator License and successful completion of a hazardous materials seminar/course is required.

Responsibilities include:

  • Oversee and perform District grounds jobs including athletic field prep, lawn maintenance and landscaping during the spring and fall
  • Perform a variety of horticultural duties
  • Lead District snowplow crew, oversee and perform snow removal
  • Manage the work of the District summer crew
  • Oversee the District vehicle maintenance schedule and troubleshoot minor mechanical problems for vehicles
  • Perform general maintenance duties at all school facilities
  • Oversee District tools and equipment
  • On-call for snow removal and pager duty rotation including overtime and weekends when needed for snowplowing

The right candidate will possess the following skills and characteristics:

  • Good time management skills; ability to respond to requests and reprioritize as appropriate
  • Working knowledge in areas of plumbing, electrical, mechanical, heating, air handling systems, and carpentry
  • Must have a Commercial Applicator License
  • Must be familiar with integrated pest management practices
  • Must be familiar with large lawn cutting equipment and have previously operated such equipment
  • Basic maintenance skills
  • Must have strong communication skills
  • Knowledge in areas of landscaping, grounds care, construction, and layout
  • Knowledge of use and care of motorized equipment and hand/power tools

The selected candidate will work 6:30am to 3:00pm, Monday through Friday, with an unpaid 30 minute lunch, for a total of 8 hours per day and 40 hours per week.   The starting pay for this position is $23.00 based on experience.  This position will begin on as soon as possible.

Heart of the Valley YMCA

Food Service - Substitute Workers

Chartwells, an independent contractor for Kimberly School District, provides school lunches for all students at KASD. We currently have openings for substitute workers. Shifts range for 2-5 hours per day. You can work while our children are at school and be off when they are! Food Service workers are laid off every summer and called back in the fall. Responsibilities can include light cooking, serving lunch, cashiering, bookkeeping, and clean up. Benefits are also offered. If you enjoy working with children and need a flexible schedule, give us a call at 920-687-3024 and select option 5.

Custodial/Cleaning Services

Building Services Group, a valued independent contractor for the Kimberly Area School District, provides cleaning and maintenance services for all district facilities. We are currently hiring full and part time, 1st and 2nd shift custodians. Responsibilities will include; providing a high level of customer service to all occupants of the buildings, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, window cleaning, bathroom cleaning, disposal of garbage and recyclables, and set -up/take-down of school events. Occasional overtime is available throughout the week and weekends!
