The Kimberly Area School District has a rewarding opportunity for a Director of Facilities.  The right candidate will direct the maintenance and custodial departments to ensure school buildings, equipment and grounds are operational, safe, clean and maintained. The selected candidate will develop long-range plans and assist with budget model forecasting. The right candidate will provide students and staff with a safe, attractive, comfortable, clean, and efficient place in which to learn, play, develop, and work. Building maintenance, project management and supervisory experience is required. Annual salary is $80,000.

Responsibilities include:

  • Responsible for all maintenance and custodial services.
  • Develop and maintain a District-wide long-range plan for capital improvements in conjunction with the Director of Business Services.
  • Oversee the design, planning and development of facilities and new construction, ensuring that jobs are completed efficiently and within regulatory guidelines and projected deadlines.
  • Manage construction contracts for new facilities and major alterations and/or modernizing of existing facilities for the purpose of ensuring that the work is performed in accordance with specifications, timelines, and budget.
  • Work in conjunction with the Athletic Director in preparing all internal and external athletic facilities.  Coordinates all field and rehabilitation work.  Establish field rehabilitation schedule.  Inspect fields on a regular basis.
  • Develop the District budget for equipment, vehicles and major building and grounds repairs, renovations and alterations in conjunction with the Director of Business Services.
  • Develop quote and bid specifications for major expenditures in conjunction with the Director of Business Services.
  • Prepare and develop a variety of mandated plans, studies, and reports for the purpose of complying with the regulatory actions, funding requirements, and other established policies.
  • Maintain District compliance with all safety, health and environmental regulations. Promote the safety, health and comfort of students, employees and the general public.
  • Oversee the scheduling and coordination of all work orders for the operation, maintenance and remodeling of District buildings, grounds, and/or equipment.
  • Develop and implement energy efficiency strategies.
  • Oversee all District equipment, vehicles and vehicle records.

The right candidate will possess the following skills and characteristics:

  • Knowledge in areas of plumbing, electrical, mechanical, heating, air handling systems, roofing systems, carpentry, and grounds care; ability to operate equipment
  • Knowledge of building codes and safety precautions used in building maintenance and operations
  • Hazardous material handling experience
  • Ability to handle emergencies and critical operational problems; ability to problem solve and make appropriate decisions; ability to work well under pressure/stress; ability to work in a fast-paced environment

The Director of Facilities position will require an understanding of state mandates for public school districts.  This includes successful completion of the WSSCA Safety and Security Coordinator Certification Program and the WASBO Facilities Manager Core Certification Program within 3 years of hire with the District.

Buildings & Grounds Supervisor

The Kimberly Area School District has a rewarding opportunity for a Buildings and Grounds Supervisor.  The right candidate will direct the day-to day operations of the District custodial services to ensure school buildings, equipment and grounds are operational, safe, clean and maintained. Responsible for supervising the custodial staff including: hiring, evaluating staff work performance, and training. Provide students and staff with a safe, attractive, comfortable, clean, and efficient place in which to learn, play, develop, and work.  Custodial experience or an equivalent level of education and experience in facilities maintenance or building trades and supervisory experience is required.  The selected candidate will work from 10:00am to 7:00pm, Monday through Friday, during the school year and 6:30am to 3:30pm, Monday through Friday, during the summer.  Annual salary is $60,000.

Responsibilities include:

  • Responsible for supervising all custodial services.
  • Hire, evaluate staff work performance and train custodial personnel and summer help.
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of contracted custodial company and services.
  • Schedule and coordinate with Director of Facilities all work orders for the operation, maintenance and remodeling of school buildings, grounds, and/or equipment.
  • Inspect all facilities and systems on a regular basis and prioritize, recommend and schedule all buildings and grounds projects for the District.
  • Monitor the safety and cleanliness of all buildings.
  • Respond to after-hours situations that require services of this department.
  • Approve all requisitions and payments of invoices for supplies, equipment and work performed by outside contractors.
  • Maintain District compliance with all safety, health and environmental regulations. Promote the safety, health and comfort of students, employees and the general public.
  • Obtain quotes for supplies and equipment where applicable.
  • Keep District compliant with OSHA regulations.
  • Perform general maintenance and custodial activities as necessity dictates.

Heart of the Valley YMCA

Food Service - Substitute Workers

Chartwells, an independent contractor for Kimberly School District, provides school lunches for all students at KASD. We currently have openings for substitute workers. Shifts range for 2-5 hours per day. You can work while our children are at school and be off when they are! Food Service workers are laid off every summer and called back in the fall. Responsibilities can include light cooking, serving lunch, cashiering, bookkeeping, and clean up. Benefits are also offered. If you enjoy working with children and need a flexible schedule, give us a call at 423-4159. Applications may be picked up in the main office at Kimberly High School. Just ask for a food service application.

Building Services Group

Custodial/Cleaning Services

Building Services Group, a valued independent contractor for the Kimberly Area School District, provides cleaning and maintenance services for all district facilities. We are currently hiring full and part time, 1st and 2nd shift custodians. Responsibilities will include; providing a high level of customer service to all occupants of the buildings, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, window cleaning, bathroom cleaning, disposal of garbage and recyclables, and set -up/take-down of school events. Occasional overtime is available throughout the week and weekends!
