Kimberly, Wis. – June 28, 2021 – The Kimberly Area School District (KASD) is proud to report another successful golf outing after having to cancel the annual event in 2020.  Students in the District will have access to additional alcohol and drug-free activities thanks to the participants, sponsors and donors of the 18th Annual FORE! Our Kids Golf Outing.

The event, held on June 10th at High Cliff Golf Course in Sherwood, raised over $21,000. The proceeds will be distributed to several groups that promote activities for students within the KASD that are alcohol and drug-free. Those benefitting from the fundraiser include district groups and events such as Graduation Celebration, Post Prom, JRG ROCKS and Life-Force at Kimberly High School, as well as community events such as Paperfest and the Kimberly Fireworks.

Supporting these youth programs gave over 100 golfers a great reason to hit the green. Additionally, 85 businesses, organizations and individuals supported the event through sponsorships and donations. It was a community-wide effort to make it a successful golf outing.

“The FORE! Our Kids Golf Outing is a great event and the participants have a lot of fun,” said Eric Brinkmann, Principal of J.R. Gerritts Middle School. “We appreciate the amazing generosity and are always humbled by the support of our community. At JRG, we use the funds to support our many ROCKS (Recognizing Our Committed Kids) clubs and activities.” ROCKS students pledge to be alcohol and drug-free. “ROCKS activities are designed to show students that they can live exciting, fulfilling and rewarding lives without drugs, alcohol or tobacco,” said Brinkmann. “ROCKS events are some of the highlights of the school year for our students, and it wouldn't be possible without the generosity of those who join the fun at the outing.”

“Students create memories in settings free from alcohol and drugs thanks to the support of the community,” said Bob Mayfield, Superintendent of the Kimberly Area School District. “They build traditions around the events and educational programs this event funds, from Post Prom and Graduation Celebration, to programs where they teach younger students about healthy life choices.”

Over the past 19 years, the FORE! Our Kids Golf Outing has generated over $210,000 to fund a variety of youth organizations and activities.
