Best of luck to Sixth Graders Colton and Tyler who will represent our region at the State Spelling Bee on March 16th!
In late February, 36 fifth through eighth graders from our region who had previously won their school-wide spelling bees competed at the CESA 6 Regional Spelling Bee.
After 12 rounds, most of the contestants were eliminated (each one knew how to spell much better than most of the adults in the audience), there were only three contestants remaining: Jackson, Colton, and Tyler. Jackson was the first of the three to misspell a word. Tyler and Colton continued to spell each and every word correctly for more than 40 rounds. It was an intense back and forth. The audience was in awe. At the end, Colton came in first and Tyler came in second place!
Both Colton and Tyler will compete at the state level of the National Spelling Bee on March 16, 2019, in Madison. Best of luck to these phenomenal spellers!
And congratulations to all of the students who pursued their potential through the Spelling Bees!
