Second Place at State for SkillsUSA Welding Fabrication Team and Jakob Doering

Kimberly High School students competed at the State SkillsUSA contest at the Alliant Energy Center in Madison. Students were selected to compete in contests based on their career interests and academic/skill performance in class. Students are listed below along with their contest.

Jakob Doering took second place out of 60 competitors in the individual Welding Skill contest. He was awarded a $5,000 scholarship for his achievement. 

The welding fabrication team of Brandon Gardner, Henry Musich and Maxwell Johnson took second place out of 21 teams at the contest.

SkillsUSA team members participate in skills-based competitions ranging from machining to residential wiring. Participation in SkillsUSA helps students discover and grow their interest in technical career fields.
