At Kimberly High School our goal is to help all students reach their full potential in academics, the arts and athletics. We will continue our efforts to develop independent problem solvers who are college and/or career ready.

Learning is our daily priority. The KHS staff is comprised of caring, creative, and committed professional educators who are dedicated to helping students reach the high expectations put forth in the classroom. We strive daily to clarify what we want our students to know and be able to do, assess student learning in a variety of ways, and provide support for students who have not yet learned.

During 2017-18 we will be working with students to clarify their after high school plan through our Academic and Career Planning Program (ACP).  Our objective is to have each student create and execute a plan that allows them to make a smooth transition from KHS to the first step in their after high school plan.   We will be communicating frequently about our ACP initiative as parents play a critical role in the process.

We are proud of the facilities and resources our citizens have given us which includes our new indoor practice facility and weight room.   Additionally, we have made numerous technology and classroom updates this past summer.   We are equally proud of the involvement of our students’ academic awards and community service, and proud of our ability to join with parents and community members to address the challenges we see in a proactive manner. Most importantly, we offer wide-ranging opportunities for participation and learning through athletics, academic teams and school organizations. We have created opportunities for all students to be connected to our school. Last year nearly 80% of our students were involved in at least one club, activity, or sport.  Additionally, over 60 students earned certifications through Youth Apprentice, Child Care and Health Occupations programs.

Our Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) program will include nearly all classes for 2017-18..   All students will need a Chromebook or laptop for educational purposes daily. Having ongoing access to technology will help your child develop greater independence, increase engagement, and develop skills required to thrive in the 21st Century.   Student devices will be used to access resources, complete assignments, and for personal organization. Educational activities may include researching information, producing documents, analyzing data, participating in surveys, producing videos, reading e-books, creating blogs, taking notes, or scheduling events.

I invite you to visit or contact me or member of the KHS administrative team if you have any questions.
